The demand for up-to-the-minute graphic data display and emergency alerts continues to skyrocket. Chyron’s DigiBox CG offers a low-cost, SD platform on which custom-designed, third-party applications can create and play out broadcast-quality graphics. Built on Chyron’s successful Digital pcCODI® technology, the DigiBox houses a single or dual channels in a compact, 1RU chassis. The system is ideal for a wide range of CG and animation applications including Emergency Alert System (EAS), logo insertion/station branding, broadcast and post graphics, news, sports, weather, subtitling/open captioning, Master Control, business information display, automated school closings, newsroom and sports score displays, racetrack display and more. DigiBox can also repurpose existing pcCODI applications, making it a logical digital upgrade from Chyron’s Analog pcCODI system.
Exceptional Graphics Performance
DigiBox features real-time playout of complex, layered text and graphics, over an internal background graphic plane. Rolls, Crawls and Flipbooks, as well as dynamic transitions such as dissolve, push and weave add an extra graphic dimension for a true broadcast look. DigiBox can read iNFiNiT!® fonts and messages, and TIF, TGA, BMP, Chyron RGBA and PCX files.
Specialized, Third-Party Applications and Development Tools
A variety of specialized applications is available from Chyron’s third-party development partners. For third-party developers who create applications, the supplied CD provides a vast library of character generator and pixel manipulation software functions. Over 125 display functions enable the creation of custom interfaces to the pcCODI board, including automated data input and display.
