WPSD-TV CHOOSES CHYRON WORKFLOW FOR NEWSROOM OPERATION
Melville, US - August 6, 2007: Chyron Corporation (OTC BB: CYRO) has today announced that WPSD-TV, an NBC affiliate based in Paducah, KY, has purchased a Chyron HyperX graphics platform, CAMIO newsroom management system and iSQ remote monitoring and playout application.
WPSD-TV, part of the Paxton Media Group, will be using the HyperX running Chyron's Lyric PRO software for its daily, news broadcasts. Lyric PRO integrates Chyron's interFuse technology providing WPSD-TV unprecedented connectivity and expandability. Using Chyron's CAMIO news graphics management solution, WPSD-TV journalists can create templated text, images and video graphics on the Newsroom Client while writing scripts, allowing the news team complete control over the graphics.
Mark Hall, Operations Director, WPSD-TV explains, "Intelligent transitions allow WPSD-TV to program how the graphics interact with each other while on the air, updating information as background elements continue to animate, or moving a graphic completely to make way for a replacement. By using persistent messages, our breaking news banners and LIVE bugs can wait to go on-and-off the air with a simple key press, without any input from ENPS." He adds, "The sheer power of the HyperX equipment running the Lyric PRO is amazing. We are truly limited only by imagination; the term character generator no longer applies to this high-end graphics system."
He continues, "The iSQ playout system was a strong factor in our decision to purchase Chyron. This is due to the simplicity of playlist operation and the tight integration with our ENPS news system and the HyperX equipment. The history of performance, reliability, and service made it easy for us to choose yet another Chyron system."
"Chyron has been working with WPSD-TV for more than 30 years and I am delighted to announce this latest Chyron integration into the network's newsroom workflow. The combination of the HyperX running Lyric PRO, CAMIO, and iSQ application delivers a formidable technological breakthrough in busy newsrooms," commented Kevin Prince, Chyron's Chief Operating Officer.
