Fast-Access HD/SD Clip Server.

Chyron’s XClyps is a multi-format production clip server designed to meet the needs of the most demanding broadcast environments. XClyps features real-time clip playback in single- or dual-channel video and key. Video and audio can be ingested in any format via Targa sequences, live video input, or rendering directly with the Video for Windows® codec. Mix and match video and key channels and then add audio to maximize your capabilities. Replace multiple playback devices with XClyps for quick import and playback of video clips. The system is available in an HD/SD-switchable or SD configuration.

Powerful and Expandable
XClyps can store up to 50 hours of SD video content or up to 22 hours of HD video content on a single system. Built on .Net technology with a gigabit Ethernet networking, assets can be quickly transferred across the network. Clips are recorded on RAID5 with hot swappable media storage and a mirrored system drive. For large installations with multiple XClyps systems, file transfer, control, and monitoring are easily performed with the XClyps M+C (Monitor and Control) option.

Playback and Control
XClyps can be used for news bumpers, station promos, coming ups, monitor background playback, or in any instance where exceptional HD or SD video, key and audio playback is needed.

Flexible Automated or Manual Playback and Control

Chyron’s XClyps and MicroClyps clip servers provide a variety of manual and automated control options, including support for Pro-Bel, GPI, VDCP, PBusII and Chyron Intelligent Interface®.

Both XClyps and MicroClyps can also be controlled manually via the interface and keyboard or with the optional Chyron ClypBoard dedicated control panel seen on the right.

MOS Workflow

Integration with CAMIO and Axis World Graphics Workflow
XClyps seamlessly integrates with the Chyron MOS workflow. Both maps and charts created in Chyron's cloud-to-ground graphics creation tool, Axis World Graphics, can be automatically distributed to the XClyps systems for playout.

Within the newsroom environment, clips can be dragged and dropped into stories within the Newsroom Computer System (NRCS), monitored and then triggered to playback on air.

Key Features

Real-Time Video, Key and Audio
Video can be ingested in formats including Targa sequences, live video input or directly with the included watch folder that converts a QuickTime movie.

3 and 4-Point Looping
XClyps has controls to set looping points, allowing the clip to start, loop for a set number of loops, and then finish. This saves time for creation, rendering, transferring and disk space.

Clip-to-Clip Transitions
While a clip is playing, transition to another on a single channel in SD, with the second channel in HD.

Remote Browse and Playback Control
Offline software can remotely control multiple XClyps and or MicroClyps devices.

Automation Control
XClyps works with industry standard protocols such as VDCP, Pro-Bel, PBussII, GPI triggers and Chyron Intelligent Interface.

RAID5 and Hot-Swappable Drives
To prevent loss of clips and to ensure your system drive remains working, XClyps records the video on RAID5 storage and the system drives are mirrored for additional redundancy.
