Why do items in my Default State in Lyric Pro cut on air when I play the scene back in Channel Box?
Lyric Pro is designed for use in a live environment, and there are five transitions that automatically work in that scenario: Effect In, Effect Out, Default, Update In and Update Out. These work in a very specific way in a live environment. However, Channel Box is rarely used in that type of scenario. Channel Box users want complete control over when and how things happen.
It is for this reason that we strongly recommend not using these transitions and instead create custom-named transitions for everything. In the cases of Effect In/Out and Update In/Out, that’s easy…just don’t select them. The Default state, however, always exists and always gets sent to output when a message is played.
To avoid this in Channel Box, when you create your animations in Lyric Pro simply slide all the visible objects off screen in your Default state. In this way, the Default state will still be transferred to air when the scene is played, however no objects will be visible when this happens. The custom transitions you created in Lyric Pro will be available to Channel Box to be triggered at airtime.
